This often-overlooked playground in Rutland is a great spot to spend a few hours. The accessible playground is great for littler adventurers. There's a large grassy area for rolling and running, and arguably the best splash pad in the city. Not walking distance to snacks, but an easy drive to all the amenities along Hwy 33 North. Note: Great park to host large groups or Bday parties.

About: This park was shut down for two years after a massive spring flood destroyed the playground. But, after some major renovations, it’s back open and ready for summer! Dogs allowed in the park on-leash. Washrooms on site, and park is short walking distance to shops and food.

Spacious playground in beautiful City Park, right downtown. Burn some energy on the play structure, or head to the adjacent splash pad or gorgeous sandy beach. Bring a towel to have a picnic on the grass, or walk to a nearby downtown cafe or ice cream shops. Keep in mind that the play structure is older, and isn't designed for early walkers. Bonus: There are often food trucks parked nearby.

It’s worth the drive to Kettle Valley! This huge, modern, inclusive playground high up in gorgeous Kettle Valley is one of our kids’ faves. There are tons of play structures, appropriate for toddlers all the way up to big kids. We love the giant tube slide, and that you can get out of the sun by sitting under lovely, mature trees. There's a coffe shop in Kettle Valley in case you need snacks, but it's not super close to the park by foot.
